Hideo Kojima, as a talented and respected artist, has far more friends than we do. Those friends probably know much more about Death Stranding 2 than we do, too, if some happy snaps shared on Twitter are anything to go by.
Kojima has shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the in-development Death Stranding sequel, featuring celebrities like Elle Fanning, Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and Shioli Kutsuna. There were too many across both his English and Japanese Twitter accounts to list here, but some highlights can be seen below.
In other recent Death Stranding 2 news, Kojima revealed he would have had to rewrite the game if Elle Fanning had refused the role, and indie band CHVRCHES say they would be there in a second if Kojima wanted to collaborate on the sequel. If you, too, would like some friends, introduce yourself in the comments section below.

We love you Hideo ❤️
So excited for this. After finally playing the Director's Cut recently, I decided to replay all Kojima-directed MGS games, as well as Rising Revengeance. I finished 4 last night, and I love this man's games so much. Dude's a genius, imo.
It's time this man should make a Movie......
Norman Reedus is the poorest-looking rich man ever!
@AhmadSumadi
Norman Reedus has always reminded me of the guys I sell auto parts to. If I knew nothing about him I would assume he is a shade tree mechanic who drives a partially rusted 1993 Chevrolet single cab.
Elle Fanning is a really brilliant actress, The Great is one of the best shows out there right now. Given how great the cutscenes were in the first game, I’m definitely looking forward to the movie half of the strangely engrossing hiking sim.
Not interested in seeing Hollywood faces when I'm trying to game.
@AhmadSumadi That's what I love about him. Like Jack Black, Lewis Capaldi and a few others he is what he is. It's refreshing
Only last week I finally played DS, the director's cut, after playing like 5 hours a few years ago.
I needed something that I could just lose myself in and this was perfect for that and really satisfying to boot. Can't wait for this sequel.
@anon_pel222 I love Kojima, and his cinematic influences are plain to see in his games.
But I get the feeling if he actually made a film it would be 10 hours long, incomprehensible, and make you smell scratch 'n' sniff cards that smell like dog farts at particular moments or something.
Mark Kermode would HATE it.
Love to see this.
Like it or loath it, you cant deny that DS was a creative genre all to itself. No other dev other than Kojima could have brought that vision to life in the way it was, but he has the clout and the history to bring the unexpected and make it work.
I really enjoyed playing the first one and it gave me a 'vibe' I've not experienced form any other game. I'm excited to see what we get from no 2!
Death Stranding is my favorite game of all time. I simply cannot wait to see what direction the sequel goes. It’s always great when you can’t even pretend you know where the narrative might go in a game
